Eduardo Veiga Jiménez, professor at the Training Center of the Ministry of Tourism, and Odey Martínez Yanes, specialist in the protected area of ​​the Central and Western Ecological Reserve of Cayo Coco, both from the Avilanian municipality of Morón, were recognized with the Provincial Environment Award for their contributions. in conservation and education, with uninterrupted work for several years.

As revealed at the provincial event for World Environment Day, Veiga Jiménez stands out for his contributions, for more than four decades, to sustainable tourism development in the northern keys of Ciego de Avila.

The specialist in the leisure industry has a performance that includes participation in environmental planning tasks, the design of products for nature tourism and the training of professionals for the so-called industry without chimneys.

Meanwhile, Martínez Yanes is awarded this award for more than 25 years of sustained and satisfactory work in the study, monitoring and management of flora and fauna species, mainly birds, which favors conservation.

Likewise, he is recognized for his educational work with communities near areas that treasure valuable natural resources.
