An environment of competitiveness, aimed at perfecting techniques to offer a better service, promoted the First Jardines del Rey 2023 Gastronomic Festival, which is integrated into the activities for the 30th anniversary of that tourist destination, to be held on November 12.

Roberto Hernández Torres, organizer of the event and professor at the Tourism Training Center in Ciego de Ávila, explained to the Cuban News Agency that, after five days of competitions in the different representations of the sector, today the final took place at the Hotel Pullman Cayo Coco.

The president of the base body of the Association of Bartenders in the Avilanian territory also stated that they compete in all forms of gastronomy (kitchen, lounge, sommelier and canteen), with the aim of developing knowledge and theoretical-practical skills that favor the quality of care.

Likewise, he said, the use of innovative techniques is promoted in the creation of dishes, cocktails and combinations to increase tourist offers.

The best professionals from the Cubanacán, Gran Caribe and Islazul hotel chains, as well as the Palmares non-hotel branch, will represent the province in events held in the country for one year, including the XLII FitCuba 2024 International Tourism Fair, scheduled for will be held next May in the northern keys of Avila.

On this occasion, the winners in the canteen category were: Fredy Reyes Cabrales, Arquímides Rodríguez Castillo and Yuniel Uriarte Pérez; In cooking, the awards went to chefs Geovany Suárez, Asiel Armas and Frank Cervantes; while in the sommelier and salon category the winners were Aneluys Espinosa Cabrera and Yamil Fernández Pavón.

Due to the comprehensiveness of the results in the competitive event, the winning chain was Gran Caribe.
