The evaluation and re-evaluation of all pregnant women is a task prioritized by the Maternal and Child Program, PAMI, in the Avilanian territory of Morón, as one of the measures to improve the indicators related to infant mortality.

Dr. Celia María López Reyes, head of the PAMI in the town, said that in the previous calendar the behavior was unfavorable, both the infant mortality rate and the low birth weight and, although this year progress is appreciated, they continue to be high for the purpose of the municipality.

Reversing the situation entails several measures, such as linking pregnant women to workers’ canteens, encouraging admission to the maternity home when they require it, in addition to working with those who have reproductive risk to ensure that when they become pregnant they are in optimal conditions , he pointed.

But to achieve our purposes, it is necessary to unite all the factors in the community, she insisted, so that everything helps women to bring their pregnancies to a happy term, said Dr. López Reyes.
