The close relationship of the Center for Environmental Engineering and Biodiversity of Ciego de Ávila, based in Morón, with the Máximo Gómez University and the Municipal University Center, CUM, and companies in the territory, contributed with its scientific results to the local development strategy, on everything related to food production.
The advice and accompaniment to producers in the creation of projects is an example of this, in such a way that it has allowed important impacts such as the contribution to the diversification of crops in response to the food sovereignty program.
It also contributes to the increase in yields in sunflower production at the Sanguily Rescue Service and Credit Cooperative, in addition to favoring the conservation and protection of soil resources with the use of agroecological practices.
Support for the production of food of animal and human origin, as well as obtaining products with local resources as a response to economic and social development, has also been a commendable result, as has the strengthening of local capacities in the private sector from the linkage with scientific centers.
