The opening, from this first of October, of the Hotel Grand Aston Cayo Paredón, in the Jardines del Rey destination, gives continuity to the development strategy of the tourism sector in the province of Ciego de Ávila until the year 2030.
Iyolexis Correa Lorenzo, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) in the territory, highlighted that two other facilities (Roca Norte 1 and Roca Norte 2), in charge of Almest Real Estate, are also being completed on that islet, with a date set for year 2023.
She specified that in Jardines del Rey, made up of Coco, Guillermo, Paredón Grande and Antón Chico keys, some 37 projects are underway, covering accommodation, recreational and support areas.
She explained that two other facilities, Villa Gregorio and Casa Vigía, located in Cayo Guillermo and managed by the Islazul Hotel Chain, will be subject to expansions that will provide another 36 lodging capacities.
The Grupo Extrahotelero Palmares plans to diversify the leisure options in the northern keys of Avilanian, through the construction of the AquaRey Park and the Cayo Mortero Recreational Complex, both of which would be located in Cayo Guillermo, she added.
In correspondence with the increase in accommodation capacities, the creation of a food processing center and a bakery-sweet shop is also planned in Morón, in addition to a support base for the Tourism Services Company (Emprestur) in Cayo Paredón, and a shelter for workers of the entity itself in Cayo Coco.
