The National Presidency of the UPEC, headed by Ricardo Ronquillo Bello, President, held a fruitful exchange with journalists from the municipality of Morón on aspects inherent to the operation of the organization, with a call for the efficient exercise of the profession as required by the current conditions of the country.

As part of a visit to the province of Ciego de Ávila, where a process is being carried out for the election of a new Upec executive in the territory, Ronquillo made reference to new strategies that are being studied, such as achieving media autonomy with changes in the economic and editorial nature.

In the exchange, where Bolivia’s Tamara Cruz Martínez, First Vice President, and Juan Carlos Ramírez Hera and Francisco Rodríguez Cruz, both vice presidents, also participated, the exercise of criticism and in-depth analysis of the information content of the press media was urged.

In this regard, Ronquillo pointed out: “the moment demands communication efficiency and our duty is to make the media credible and make the exercise a weapon in defense of the truth.”
