With more than half of its workforce made up of women, the Delavida local development project (PDL), dedicated to artisanal cosmetology from the Ávila municipality of Morón, promotes their social and economic empowerment by facilitating their access to decent jobs. and well paid.
Emerged on the initiative and with the leadership of Yunet Pérez Pérez, this venture is currently made up of 32 workers and more than 53 percent are women, mostly young people.
Women are linked to the manufacturing and marketing of 38 varieties of natural soaps, sulfur and nourishing creams, Vaselines, lip balms, facial masks, scented and foot powders, ointments and body oils, in different formats, recommended for health and beauty of people of all ages.
Yarimil Herrera Hernández, co-owner of the aforementioned PDL, emphasized that they also participate in the production and sale of jabolin, soap shavings, flavorings, hydrochloric acid and chlorine bleach.
He added that they plan to venture into new manufacturing such as liquid detergent, shampoo and bath gel, to the extent that conditions allow, to satisfy demands of the national market, particularly in the Morón territory, and achieve productive chains with hotel and non-hotel facilities in Jardines. del Rey and other tourist destinations in Cuba.
The presence of women within the project – she expressed – is notable in activities such as planting, harvesting and purchasing medicinal plants.
In addition, they intervene in the acquisition and quality evaluations of raw materials essential to maintain stability in the manufacture of products that are sold in entities of the retail trade network in the provinces of Pinar del Río, Havana, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara , Sancti Spiritus, Camagüey and Santiago de Cuba.
