The development program of the base business unit (UEB) Alevinaje Morón promotes higher levels of production, from an investment process that yields immediate results in terms of the contribution of larvae and fingerlings of tilapia, carp and claria, necessary to repopulate the bodies of water in the Avilanian territory and support the fishing development of the province of Villa Clara.
Raúl Martín Darias, director of the UEB, specified that the first step was to recover hectares (ha) of ponds and concrete pools that were only exploited from 20 to 30 percent.
This year, it is also expected to recover the maximum pumping capacity, through the Ecoagua Local Development Project, and in conjunction with the University of Ciego de Ávila Máximo Gómez Báez, the change of energy matrix in the three suction pumps vertical of the liquid and recover another 10 ha of ponds.
“The commitment of the group of 66 workers is to produce and sow 25.6 million fingerlings this year. For this, it will also be decisive to complete the conditioning work of an alternative feed plant, which will allow us to take advantage of all the waste from the crops obtained in different agricultural entities, silage them with honey and combine them with mealy kernels of vegetable origin and other foods. that can be used”, explained Martín Darias.
