The application of agroecological practices is gaining more and more space in the municipality of Morón due to the scarcity of traditional inputs, which is manifested through its implementation in a growing number of productive bases, including several peasant farms.

Wilfredo Martínez López, member of the Provincial Bureau of the National Association of Small Farmers, ANAP, in Ciego de Ávila, explained that this includes the use of compost and earthworm humus, as well as biocontrol agents produced in the Entomophage and Entomopathogenic Centers of the territory .

Martínez López added that, although this has already become a reality, a greater impulse is needed in search of more satisfactory results, which guarantee the use of alternatives such as crop residues, live fences and the use of traction. animal.

Agroecological practices are a priority for ANAP in the municipality of Morón due to the scarcity of fertilizers and pesticides, together with the need to produce healthier and more environmentally friendly food, so little by little its implementation marks the work of the peasants of the territory as part of their contribution to the food sovereignty program.
