Among the most urgent needs of agriculture in the Avilanian municipality of Morón, the creation of a Center for the Reproduction of Entomophages and Entomopathogens that guarantees a stable supply of biocontrol agents capable of replacing traditional chemical products stands out.

This was expressed by Dr. Miguel Ángel Iparraguirre Cruz, a professor at the Máximo Gómez Báez University of Ciego de Ávila, who explained that there is a serious contradiction between the need to introduce agroecological practices in Cuban agriculture and the availability of bioproducts to sustain them.

Iparraguirre Cruz, who is also in charge of technical assistance to several farms in the province of Ciego de Avila, added that the productions in the centers that provide this service should be increased, which includes the Labiofam laboratories, since their productions are not enough for the moron peasants.

It is about establishing a system of agroecological practices that not only guarantee the protection of the environment and the health of human beings, but also the increase in production in search of that food sovereignty that the country needs.
