The Avilanian municipality of Morón has several institutions that stand out for their scientific results, particularly regarding the care of the environment through adaptation actions and mitigation of the effects caused by climate change, which is essential given the presence in the territory of the Great Northern Wetland of Ciego de Ávila.
The Master of Science Zulima Díaz Montes, representative of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment in the City of Gallo, explained that the management of the Center for Coastal Ecosystem Research and the Center for Environmental Engineering and Biodiversity stands out, with studies related to the nature protection.
Díaz Montes refers that the application of the Cuban State Plan to confront climate change, Tarea Vida, is essential with investigations such as the rehabilitation of coastal dunes with native species in the northern keys, and the Integrative Environmental Management with an ecosystem approach in the Greater Northern Wetland of Ciego de Ávila.
The results obtained each year in this terroir place its institutions and the scientists who work in them, in a privileged position within the province of Ciego de Avila and the country since, with their actions, they make the words of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro when he affirmed that the future of Cuba had to necessarily be a future of men of science.
