The José María Pérez Capote distinction was given to nine outstanding transport workers in Ciego de Ávila, in the celebration of the Provincial Act on the occasion of the Day of those who work in this sector.

The event, which was held at the Morón Transmetro Bus Base, was attended by Manuel Marín Torres, Transport Coordinator in the province and Roberto Raúl González, general secretary of the Union of workers in this sector in the Avilanian territory, among other leaders.

Among those awarded the José María Pérez Capote distinction were Gabriel Peña Rodríguez, Naomi García Más, Alexis Cabrera Ávila, Ricardo Benítez López and Josefa Portales Hernández

Alexis Martínez Bombino, Aracelis Lazo and Ricardo Borroto Duarte also deserved the distinction, all with relevant results in their respective units.

The event highlighted the importance of continuing the legacy of José María Pérez Capote, a martyr in the transport sector, in the complex scenario, and stressed the search for alternatives, the solution of deficient parts and other initiatives, to keep the transportation service.
