The theft and slaughter of cattle constitutes one of the scourges that most affects the development of livestock in our country and particularly in the municipality of Morón in Ciego de Avila, a territory that last year 2022 suffered 228 acts of this type, with emphasis on the Livestock Company Turiguanó Genetics, which had 85 animals affected by this route.
Despite all the measures that were implemented to minimize these criminal acts, the expected results have not yet been achieved, which is why the delegate of agriculture in the territory, Juan José Guerra Rivero, made a call to support the company from the institution itself. who drives.
In this way, he advocated reinforcing said support through the implementation of a plan of measures that complements the existing one, and that should include more frequent tours and the creation of peasant patrols that cover a greater number of the extensive areas that the productive entity.
A strategy that should generate more effective actions to curb the theft and slaughter of large cattle, and that should be put into practice with the help of all the actors directly and indirectly related to the livestock sector so that everyone contributes their grain of sand knowing that not only the development of the country depends on it, but also the well-being of the people.
