The Máximo Gómez University (UNICA), in the province of Ciego de Ávila, today maintains collaboration and exchange agreements with important academic institutions from several countries, focused on raising the scientific quality of students and professors.
The director of International Relations of the Ciego de Ávila higher education institution, Oruam Cadex Marichal, told Prensa Latina that they have relations with some 30 nations in the world, in which they have 50 active agreements.
He specified that these agreements make it possible to exchange experiences and knowledge between pedagogues from different centers of higher education, through academic and research networks.
An example of this is the joint work they do with a German university to transfer ideas on issues related to clean energy and the circular economy, he said.
The exchanges are also aimed at the search for financing, resources and international funds for the development of the projects, Marichal pointed out.
He highlighted the work of the Ibero-American Network for Research, Leadership and Educational Practice, which includes 11 countries with 103 academics from 25 partner institutions, which carry out 18 international projects.
Recently the Avilanian institution signed cooperation contracts with the universities of Zambezi, Republic of Mozambique; with the Moscow State Pedagogical School; the Latin American Technique of El Salvador and that of the Amazon State in Brazil, explained the specialist.
The objective is to extend academic, research and program management cooperation throughout the world and offer university and postgraduate courses in the different branches of bachelor’s, engineering and master’s degrees.
Since its founding in 1978, UNICA has established some 300 international agreements with educational centers in Europe and Latin America, with the premise of raising the academic and scientific quality of the university community, to continue helping the development of society.
