Moments of emotions and joy were experienced in the city of Morón, given the surprising news that the municipality had conquered the headquarters of the central activities of the province of Avila for the 71st anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, the July 26, 1953.
After a comprehensive control visit to the territory, where six Popular Councils, 174 centers, 18 communities were controlled and 1,628 people were interviewed, who issued their criteria on the situation of the territory, the evaluation commission reached these conclusions.
When offering the results of the visit, the criterion prevailed that there are still difficulties, among others, 158 problems detected by this comprehensive control, but – said Julio Gómez Casanova, first secretary of the Party in the Province -, the majority have a level of solution in the municipality itself.
Emotional was the moment when the municipalities highlighted in the emulation for the headquarters of the 26th were announced, an honor that corresponded to Primero de Enero, Ciego de Ávila, Baraguá and Venezuela.
In a fervent atmosphere of joy, it was announced that Morón deserved the provincial headquarters of the activities for July 26, a stage invaded by a cheerful conga, clowns, while Cuban and July 26 flags were waved.
Poets, musical and dance performances and other varieties presented by the D’Moron Theater Company, paraded through the Agramonte Park gazebo, despite the threats of the weather and other unexpected setbacks.
