The grass producing forces in the Ciego de Avila municipality of Morón officially began cutting cane with 100 percent of the squad’s staff.
Idoel Álvarez Durán, Head of Production of the Saladrigas Cooperative Basic Unit, said that they have trained personnel, to whom the footwear and clothing indicated for the task were delivered.
“Despite being a month late in starting, we think that we can meet the planned production plans, we have a margin of 70 days to meet the delivery plan,” he explained.
“The two previous harvests have been affected by difficulties with trucks and the shortage of raw materials such as lubricants, but in this one we have the necessary machinery, with which 160 tons must be delivered daily with a production of 80 tons per machinery,” argued Álvarez Durán.
“It is also planned to release an area of 382.5 hectares with a production of 14,981 tons and a yield of 40 tons per hectare.”
