The Maternal and Child Program in the Avilanian municipality of Morón receives prioritized attention from the Ministry of Health in the territory, from primary care to specialized consultations for pregnant women and children.
Dr. Yudeisy Cárdenas Molina, Deputy Director General of Health, in an interview said that when it comes to pregnancy, the first thing the surrogate mother should do is go to the family doctor to find out about it.
The pregnant woman must do the screening before twelve weeks since there are tests
complementary tests that need to be done before 13.6 weeks such as the genetic marker. Then
there is the assessment by the obstetrician who classifies what type of pregnancy it is, if it is risky
she explained.
There is also a protocol that is a follow-up of prenatal care where the medical team of
health goes to the offices to care for future mothers, call it a clinician, pediatrician, obstetrician,
psychologist, social worker and other specialists that are needed at that moment,” he argued.
Cardenas Molina.
Today 12 percent of pregnant women in the municipality are teenagers, including one case of twins, so a call is made to families, the age for an optimal pregnancy is 20 to 30 years of age, it is necessary to encourage sexual education from an early age to avoid these cases, stressed Cárdenas Molina.
