The Basic Cooperative Production Unit, UBPC, Saladrigas, located in the Patria Popular Council of the Ávila municipality of Morón, in the rural community of Saladrigas, today has two efficient irrigation machines that cover an area of 131 hectares.
Idoel Álvarez Durán, Head of Production at the entity, says that one of the machines is located in block 12.08 in Edén, which is in two rotating quadrants of food production: one for corn and the other for planting 20 hectares of beans to rotate with various crops and cane.
“The irrigation machine located in block 11.05 in Saladrigas, favors an area of 55.39 hectares and the one in Eden, which is larger, has nine towers and covers an area of 76 hectares,” he explained.
“Irrigation machines do influence production, they are the mirror of the production unit, today 60 percent of cane production is represented by them. The results are satisfactory, last year the machines added 7,000 to the millable production. tons of cane,” argued Álvarez Durán.
