The training of producers constitutes one of the fundamental objectives of the Association of Agricultural, Forestry and Tobacco Technicians, ACTAF, in the municipality of Morón, especially in terms of mastering science and technology, with the aim of achieving an increase in their productions and, with this, contribute with the much-needed food sovereignty that the nation demands.
According to the declarations of Bartolo Jesús Menocal Díaz, president of the base association in the territory, emphasis is placed on the phytosanitary preparation of cultivable areas as well as on the development of short-cycle crops, as a way to guarantee food of the town throughout the year.
Work is also being done to promote permaculture, one of whose objectives is related to the use of biofertilizers and biopesticides as friendlier, safer alternatives capable of guaranteeing the protection of the environment and human health in an increasingly adverse scenario since the economic point of view.
Over the years, the grassroots body of the ACTAF in the municipality of Morón has obtained outstanding status at the province level, thanks to its work in the development of urban, suburban, family and traditional agriculture, that can be considered a potentiality of this territory in terms of food production.
