As part of a national project, the Neuralcim Employment clinical trial for patients with amnestic variety Alzheimer’s dementia with mild or moderate memory loss began at the Roberto Rodríguez General Teaching Hospital in the city of Morón, Ciego de Avila.
In this regard, the Doctor of Science Luis Antonio Rodríguez Sánchez explained that Neuralcim is aimed at patients who manifest mild or moderate Alzheimer’s dementia, and is intended to prevent progression and seek regression of cognitive symptoms that appear in these patients.
The also head of the team of specialists participating in the trial at the Moronense institution, commented that consultations are currently taking place three times a week, and more than 15 patients have been evaluated, of which five are included in the investigation.
Dr. Sánchez Rodríguez also pointed out that not all patients can participate in the trial, since they must go through previous studies to verify that the symptoms correspond to the requirements of the treatment, which lasts approximately two years.
