With the objective that scientific projects and services contribute to the improvement and development of the economy, society and the environment, thus increasing the obtaining and application of results to a closed cycle, the Environmental Bioengineering Center of Ciego de Ávila, has various investigations framed in that purpose.

This was announced by the Master of Science Yamilé Jiménez Peña, director of this scientific institution, who explained that the center has three projects, two of which are associated with sectoral risk reduction programs, and one aimed at territorial environmental programs. , natural resources and climate change.

She added that four state services are also being developed, which respond to the plan to deal with climate change, better known as Tarea Vida, and which take into account long-term work projections that include seven mitigation actions and five adaptation actions.

From its insertion as part of the Environment Agency of our country, the Ciego de Ávila Environmental Bioengineering Center, formerly the Biofood Research Center, increases its role in protecting the environment and the rational use of resources natural resources, essential elements that in the end should play a decisive role in the development of the Greater Antilles.
