The tourist destination Jardines del Rey, located north of the Avilanian municipality of Morón, diversifies its offers with the intention of attracting Chinese visitors, which would expand the number of people interested in the area’s natural attractions.
Foreign visitors who come to Jardines del Rey highlight recreational boating as the main attraction of the destination, Arley Rodríguez, commercial director of the Marinas branch, explained to the Xinhua news agency.
He said they offer various products designed for customers to enjoy the natural benefits of the area. “We have two of the most beautiful coral reefs in insular America from the point of view of marine fauna,” he commented.
Two catamarans, with capacity for 80 people each, carry out safaris towards these impressive coral reefs, which are some of the largest in the Caribbean. These surround Media Luna, an islet of just 13.7 hectares and a maximum altitude of three meters above sea level. In addition to its natural beauty, it stands out as a “marine museum”, with remains of a ship that sank around 1920.
“We have a huge number of repeat clients because of the services and the characteristics of the area,” added Rodríguez, who also serves as a guide for the marine safaris.
Currently, they are developing products that fit the tastes of Chinese tourists, a market of great interest. “Chinese tourism can fit very well into all our activities,” said Rodríguez, emphasizing that the objective is to achieve the insertion and repetition of this market in Jardines del Rey.
