They promote actions as part of the Life Task in Jardines del Rey

Foreign tourists and Cubans who choose to enjoy Jardines del Rey, one of the most prominent sun and beach destinations in Cuba, do so this time in a much better protected natural environment, having wooden walkways on stilts from hotels and ranchones to the sea.

These actions, which are part of the State's plan for confronting climate change, known as Tarea Vida, are carried out with the objective of protecting the dunes of this emporium, which maintains its transparent waters and fine sand, with a much more beautiful.

In Cayo Guillermo highlight the footbridges built to take care of the Pilar beach dunes, the highest in the insular Caribbean, which prevents damage to those elevations, with 15 meters of height above sea level, given the large influx of tourists in the area to enjoy the natural attributes present, including those of the seabed, formed by a barrier of coral that shows an impressive fauna.

In the same way, the control of the area is maintained to protect its natural regeneration and reforestation with native coastal plants such as incense, beach sweet potato, mate and coastal sage, among others, due to the benefits provided by the dunes in the protection of the coastlines

Jardines del Rey is privileged to have at Cayo Coco with the Lomas del Puerto dunes, classified as the second in size in the Caribbean zone, with 10 and 14 meters, and both these and those of Pilar have very peculiar characteristics, as they are stabilized hills that do not migrate
