With the placement of a floral offering dedicated to Fidel Castro and Juan Almeida Bosque, the Meeting of Women Combatants began, which each year is based in the city of Avón de Morón. During this period, when the criminal economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba by the United States government increased, the main interventions focused on the role of women combatants at the present time.

The attention to combatants with critical health, economic and housing problems, including those affected by Hurricane Irma, are part of the work objectives of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, ACRC, of ​​the Avilanian municipality of Morón.
