The radio station became a means to spread the local culture, to know the events of the territory, in the midst of an unfavorable political environment for a city then pregnant with limitations in its social infrastructure.
From the mouth of the founders, such as José Luis Taboada, Rafael Morales and others who subsequently joined, we learned that with the arrival of Radio Morón to the ether, the radio receivers in the city multiplied, given the impact that it constituted in a short space, the airing of programs such as the Star News, which usually offered an editorial comment and described the most notable events, an opportunity that traders took to invade the propaganda of their brands and services.
Thus the sponsorship of other programs arose, and it became popular for its large audience, Meridiano Campesino, with its poets, vocals and guitars, a space that this November 19 will fulfill with the radio station 70 years on the air.
Throughout this journey through the radio history of our radio station, which became the CMIX Radio Morón, there have been many significant moments, such as when this medium began at the beginning of the triumph of the Revolution to become part of the Independent Front of Emisora Libres ( FAITHFUL), prelude to the emergence of the Cuban Broadcasting Institute.
From its foundation until December 24, 1962, the station originated its transmissions from Serafín Sánchez street number 48, where there was a small booth, the area of audio operators and a theater room, from where they were offered the programs live, with the participation of the visiting public.
His group grew in number of members, most empirically, but with an immense love for the radio in the interest of meeting the expectations of an audience that did not depart from the dial. There would be years of effort and dedication, of professional improvement, of complex radio strategies, but the city radio has always cleared paths with ideologically defined people who do not let the history of a medium that has been and will continue to be, soul, heart and Life of the City of the Rooster.
